Autocross1 Results

While our April autocross in Dover was a little short on Porsches,we had no shortage of wind. It was blowing so hard we weren’t able to put up any tents, and even chairs were blowing over if not occupied. We had some cones blown over by the wind, or at least that’s what some of the drivers claimed. Part of the blacktop had broken up a bit over the winter, so we had to modify the course to avoid it. I liked the change, as it gave us a decreasing radius turn onto a short straight, followed by a tight turn. I found this a bit more fun than the previous layout.

The best placed Porsche was Larry Waltemire in his 2005 Boxster, who won B Stock class. Chip Clapp in his ‘other car’ won C Stock. Judging by the amount of sideways travel, he looked to be having fun doing it. Nice driving guys. I like to mention classic cars that come out to the events, and this time Don Butler’s spotless 1969 Lotus Elan looked great. With all the Miatas at the event, it was interesting to see the similarity in design.

Also noteworthy were Delaware PCA members John Kassay and Scott Claybaugh who came down to check out the action and lend a hand. Thanks for the help. Gregg Wilson dropped by to observe, and at least add a Porsche to the parking lot.
