Autocross III

AUTOCROSS III RESULTS -
We had a number of first time autocrossers present, including Paul Eves and Ed Rubin from Delaware PCA. They both chose to be stealthy and drive non-Porsches. I believe Luke and Jake Waltemire, sons of Larry Waltemire, were first timers as well.
While the day started well, as the event progressed dark clouds started moving in. By mid-day, rain started and it got pretty heavy. While doing autocross in the rain can be fun for the drivers, with the limited amount of run off room at the school and complaints from wet course workers, we decided to end the event early. Unfortunately, most drivers only got 2 runs. This was disappointing, but looking back over the last 4 years of events this is the only event where we got rained on. Not too bad when you look at it that way.
Congratulations to Porsche drivers Will Pyle, Larry Waltemire, and Scott Wootten for winning C stock, B stock, and A stock. In fact, the only class a Porsche was in that a Porsche driver didn’t win was the class I was in! Maybe I should drive my other car next time so I won’t embarrass the marque.
Our last event of the 2011 season is scheduled for Sunday, October 16 in Dover. The Brandywine Motorsport Club will be awarding the Lofland memorial trophy for fastest time of the day. This event is part of Reisentoter Region’s autocross series, so we expect several Porsche drivers from RTR to participate. Let’s have a good turnout and give them some competition!

Porsches took first place in A-stock, B-stock, and C-stock.

our own: Paul's Porsche SHO and Scott's Porsche 911 run the gauntlet!
