Also note that anyone planning to visit New jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP) is required to get a “fan pass”. Log on to their website and apply for this pass and entrance to the facility will be simplified. The pass is required even if you are just driving down to observe or volunteer for the event.
Other activities scheduled for the month of may include the annual Cape May Lewes tour and a car show at the University and Whist Club. On May 19 I will be leading a tour down to the Lewes Ferry for a ride to Cape May. We will then proceed to the Hawk Haven Winery for a tasting and a picnic lunch. See the website for the details. The car show at the University and Whist Club is Friday evening May 25. Cars, wine tasting, and an optional dinner should make a nice evening.
Join us for these activities.
“We mourn the death of our partner, Ferdinand Alexander Porsche. As the creator of the Porsche 911, he established a design culture in our company that has shaped our sports cars to this very day. His philosophy of good design is a legacy to us that we will honor for all time.”
Cars and Coffee (C&C)
by Nick Dunlop
A term that has become more popular over the last decade or so - but what is it all about. Well its a social gathering of guys and girls, from all walks of life, who like automobiles in general. While some are formal events some are not, some are weekly some monthly - but normally they'll be held at the same location - but as we all know with our busy schedules it not possible to always regularly attend activities but in this case it means a varying array of automobiles every time a C&C happens.

Fun Rallies I & II – Stay on Course, then Stay on Time
Sunday May 20th & June 17th
Hockessin, DE --------------Port Deposit, MD
Presented by Brandywine Motorsport Club (BMC) (www.brandywinemotorsportclub.org)
Do you enjoy driving your car? Do you like to drive on back country roads? Do you like to meet people? Do you hate driving in traffic? Then this is for you. You will need a driver and a navigator (any 2 people qualify).
We wanted to introduce more people to Rallying. We laid out a route through Northern Delaware, Southern Chester / Lancaster Counties and finished it up in Port Deposit, MD. This will be a tour rally, where the route instructions are straight forward. You will run it twice, the first time, enjoy the scenery and just stay on course. The 2nd time, time will be introduced into the Rally. At this point the Rally becomes a Time-Speed-Distance Rally (TSD). Each time the Rally begins at the former Wilmington Trust (M&T) Bank parking lot in Lantana Square Shopping Center (www.lantanasquare.com) in Hockessin, DE and finishes at The Susky River Grille (www.suskyrivergrille.com) in Port Deposit, MD. Each time the Registration will open at 1 PM and the 1st car will be off at 2 PM. It will only cost $10 for both and trophies will be awarded at the end of the 2nd Rally.
If you are interested please contact Don Butler (dlbutler@zoominternet.net) for registration information. Don is the Rally Master. Please join us for a great time and the view of the Susquehanna River. Keep in mind; even if you get lost, you only need to find Port Deposit, MD to relax.
Autocross 2012

Autocross Update
Preparation for the April autocross had an interesting wrinkle this year. I dropped by the site a couple weeks ahead of time to discover that a large red circle had been painted on the lot. The circle was 32 feet in diameter with a stripe 5 feet wide. I don’t know what it is used for, but it did a great job of obstructing the start line. Since I didn’t want our cars driving over the stripe, the course layout was modified to move the start line closer to the lot entry. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance to try out the modified course because of rain - lots of it. The event was cancelled due to the large coastal storm that hit the day of the autocross. I looked into scheduling a make up date in May, but it is booked up. So, our next event will be on Saturday, June 23, as previously scheduled. The rain-out brings up another advantage to pre-registering for an event. It puts you on an email list for any news related to the upcoming event.
Let’s hope we have better luck with the weather in June!

By Jon D. Walton, CFP®, CLU, AIF®
Leasing a car today has become easier and more popular than ever. So why are people still hesitant to lease? Like most financial-related decisions, it may be viewed as complicated.
