President’s Message
  Bob Bloser
Our June 13 Club meeting at the Clarion will feature Evert Tjinatsoi who will review his experiences with both The Porsche Driving Experience and the PCNA Porsche Tech Tactics Technical Seminar held earlier this Spring.  We hope you can join us for this event.

Beyond the Club Meeting, we have three other events planned during June.  The next Autocross event will be held on June 23, the summer picnic on June 24 at Will Pyle’s place on the Elk River, and on June 30 Rick Roll will lead a tour to visit the Gettysburg Battlefield.  The details of these events are in this newsletter and on the Club Website.  Bring your car out and enjoy these events.

I encourage everyone to join the club Facebook Group (see instructions on the website communicate page ),  which will allow you to be alerted to additions /changes to our activities.  Members will be using this vehicle to schedule an impromptu drive to a show, event or just a drive to dine at some distant location.

For those with smart phones, see the website to download the current newsletter to your phone.  The size is very manageable and works very well.  Give it a try.

Enjoy the events – see you at the Club Meeting.

   Thanks, Bob

Let’s roll!

Well, here we are just to the very next month and we have lost another giant in the world of automobile history. Carroll Shelby died May 10th in Dallas, Texas at the richly fulfilled age of 89.

Cars and Coffee (C&C)
by Nick Dunlop

A term that has become more popular over the last decade or so - but what is it all about.  Well its a social gathering of guys and girls, from all walks of life, who like automobiles in general. While some are formal events some are not,  some are weekly some monthly - but normally they'll be held at the same location - but as we all know with our busy schedules it not possible to always regularly attend activities but in this case it means a varying array of automobiles every time a C&C happens.

WINNER’S CIRCLE
by Alex Witham

With Porsche’s all new Boxster due out by the end of June, the excitement surrounding the latest from Stuttgart is veritably palpable. Perhaps, even more so than the new 911, the new Boxster is capturing the public’s imagination with its stunning looks and reportedly awesome performance. The reviews have been extraordinary and this may be what’s contributing to the huge number of inquiries we’ve had and the inordinate number of orders that have already been placed. By all accounts it appears as though Porsche is going to have another hit on their hands with the new Type 981 Boxster.

Tour to Historic Gettysburg on the 30th of June!

Registration for our big tour to Gettysburg is now open.  The sooner you sign-up the better as we expect a big turnout and need as much time as possible to prepare for this exciting event.

The tour will begin at Porsche of Delaware and all registrants should be ready to be briefed at 8:00AM for an 8:15 departure.  We will tour in convoy to the Dobbin House Tavern ...

Sunday May 20th & June 17th

Hockessin, DE --------------Port Deposit, MD
Presented by Brandywine Motorsport Club (BMC) (www.brandywinemotorsportclub.org)

Do you enjoy driving your car?  Do you like to drive on back country roads?  Do you like to meet people? Do you hate driving in traffic?  Then this is for you.  You will need a driver and a navigator (any 2 people qualify).

We wanted to introduce more people to Rallying.  We laid out a route through Northern Delaware, Southern Chester / Lancaster Counties and finished it up in Port Deposit, MD.  This will be a tour rally, where the route instructions are straight forward.  You will run it twice, the first time, enjoy the scenery and just stay on course.  The 2nd time, time will be introduced into the Rally.  At this point the Rally becomes a Time-Speed-Distance Rally (TSD).  Each time the Rally begins at the former Wilmington Trust (M&T) Bank parking lot in Lantana Square Shopping Center (www.lantanasquare.com) in Hockessin, DE and finishes at The Susky River Grille (www.suskyrivergrille.com) in Port Deposit, MD.  Each time the Registration will open at 1 PM and the 1st car will be off at 2 PM.  It will only cost $10 for both and trophies will be awarded at the end of the 2nd Rally.

If you are interested please contact Don Butler (dlbutler@zoominternet.net) for registration information.  Don is the Rally Master.  Please join us for a great time and the view of the Susquehanna River.  Keep in mind; even if you get lost, you only need to find Port Deposit, MD to relax.
