Pre-Track Inspection = Safe Event
What is a tech inspection?
Virtually all clubs and organizations sponsoring track events require a tech or safety inspection of the vehicle prior to it being permitted on the track. Delaware Region is no exception.
Two Types of Inspections Required:
Completion of Safety Inspection Checklist
Pre-Track Final Inspection
Where to get your inspection:
Other Competent Shop
The Safety Inspection Checklist, to be completed by any competent service shop, is used by the Delaware Region PCA and covers 24 components and systems of the car including brakes, suspension, wheels and tires. For example, brake pads should have a thickness equal to 50% of pad life or more. Tires require 3/32 depth on contact patch area except for race tires. This form must be completed within 30 days prior to the first day of the event. A pre-track inspection is handled by the track team and is completed in the morning on the first day of the event. It includes review of the Safety Inspection Checklist and a visual inspection of the car. After the first day, visual inspection of the car is still required before each subsequent track day.
